As network marketers, one of the best things we are working on is the creation of long-term residual income. Yet, the question arises, “Are we building our business the best way to create a long-term residual income?”
Distributors and customers come and go. Life happens and they make certain changes and somehow, they lose interest or forget their network marketing business. Leaders, on the other hand, are the real long-term source of our residual income in our business. That is why we must spend 80% of our time building and training qualified distributors into leaders and 20% on customers and distributors who just availed the discount.
Know and understand as well that finding those leaders can take a while but it’s worth it. It is equally hard training and developing people into leaders. We don’t create leaders through events, courses or programs (these create great motivation and inspiration to grow as leaders) but only through rigorous daily discipline and effort in developing the qualities of leadership. The qualities I look for in a leader are learners, teachable, humble and achievers. Here’s the caution: Leaders can spot other leaders and only leaders can lead other leaders. So, make your best to be one.
When we build our business with leaders, we have great leverage since our efforts and volumes grow exponentially. Thus, in building your business, always ask: “Am I building my business with distributors and customers alone or with leaders?”
