A Man’s life and character are the result of his own inmost Thoughts and Ideals

James Allen

The philosophy above was as old as civilization, but ever fresh and new. James Lane Allen had proven the truth of it in his own life. He had been very poor in his youth, had none of the advantages so many young men count essential. He had started out with nothing to build on except what was within himself. But he had known what he wanted to do and be; he had kept his dream, his ideal, everlastingly before him; he had tried to live the life he imagined—and in the end, his dream became a reality. As a man thinks, so is he.

We Must Do The Best We Can With What We Have

The above title was the philosophy lived by Mr. Edward Rowland Sill. Both his parents died when he was young and had poor health that he was prevented from doing many of the things he would have liked. For a long time, he had difficulty finding his proper niche in his life. He did ministry but gave it up when he couldn’t accept narrow dogma. He did newspaper work but found that he was physically and temperamentally unsuited for the job. He finally made teaching his career and he was successful and content…until his poor health forced him to give up.

He believed in doing the best he could with what he had, in whatever condition he found himself. He believed and lived making good, not in making excuses. And in his poem, “Opportunity,” he knew his limitations and accepted them. Here are the words in his poem, let’s learn from him and his belief:

This I beheld, or dreamed it in a dream:

There spread a cloud of dust along a plain;

And underneath the cloud, or in it, raged

A furious battle, and men yelled, and swords

Shocked upon swords and shields. A prince’s banner

Wavered, then staggered backward, hemmed by foes.

A cavern hung along the battle’s edge,

And thought, “Had I a sword of keener steel—

That blue blade that the king’s son bears, — but this

Blunt thing—!” he snapped and flung it from his hand,

And lowering crept away and left the field.

Then came the king’s son, wounded, sore bestead,

And weaponless, and saw the broken sword,

Hilt-buried in the dry and trodden sand,

And ran and snatched it, and with battle shout

Lifted afresh he hewed his enemy down,

And saved a great cause that heroic day.

Written more than 120 years ago, its message is as timely as ever: Forget your limitations. Make the most of the opportunities and abilities you have and fulfill the promise within you.

More than 2000 years ago, being the Son of Man, Jesus did a lot of miracles and wonders through the aid of His Father in Heaven, Creator of the heavens and the earth. There was nothing He couldn’t do but was only limited by unbelief of the people He was serving. The Scripture says, “The righteous shall live by faith.” We can become righteous in God’s sight by believing what Jesus had done on the cross for us. Then we can declare like the apostle Paul, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Persist.

Do not be discouraged no matter what, because when we give up, then we are none. – Top Ittipat, Top’s Secret

I have watched the movie,Top’s Secret a.k.a. The Billionaire, at least five times since 2012. Top has encountered a lot of challenges to reach his goal and persisted secretly to pay back his father’s debts and occupy the same house that was foreclosed due to the debt.

There were times when he knows that he can reach his goals when his business started to gain some sales then setbacks came. The highlight of the movie is when he contacted the person in-charge of taking products for sale of 7-11 with high hopes but the problem was its products packaging. After fixing the packaging, another seemingly setback came because of the busyness of the person who told him that the packaging’s not ready. So, he left his sample products at 7-11’s elevator which employees had the chance to taste the product. At that, he was called for a contract but 7-11 wanted more than 70,000 pieces for distribution within two months after checking whether his plant is aligned with Good Manufacturing Practices.

With that challenge, Top sold his car and took a calculated risk in renovating his father’s warehouse which was foreclosed. The examiners of his plant were thorough and he told them that whatever they want for improvement of the plant, he’ll do his best to fix or put them in place. Then he got the contract, got all the required units for shipment and his goal has been met.

Top’s setbacks include losing his girlfriend, his parents leaving him for China to start over, failed businesses, undervalued talisman, unsaleable DVD players, his father’s not seemingly supportive of his business skills but the total support of his uncle and mom. His great attributes included stubborn persistence and unquenchable learning attitude (not in the classroom, but in real-world set up).

The message above and what he went through gives me courage to do whatever it takes to succeed, no matter what, so that I can declare that the Lord is good.

Never Lose Contact with Your Contact

As we share our network marketing business to our friends and relatives, we may receive some negative feed backs or reactions from them which we don’t expect especially at the start of the business – when we do not have good results. We may also react negatively to their reactions when they don’t believe in what we believe about the company, products or services and culture.

At the start, our contacts may or may not join us in the business. But what is important is to continue on our journey to our financial freedom and fight for our dreams. Then continually update our contacts in our progress and the new information they may need about the company or the new product releases that are coming.

As we progress, always keep the relationship growing whether the contacts join or not. Find a way to update yourself about your contacts’ situations like status, new baby or new promotions or other tragedies they may have encountered. Then just be there.

There will always be a chance that they will need a friend, a trusted one. Then just be one. People join us in the business because they trust us first, then the company we represent. The goal is to be a better person for our contacts. Someone they can rely to and on.

In network marketing, never lose contact with your contact. Realize that your contacts or network are your greatest asset in the business. Let’s do our best to grow and expand our business network by increasing our value for our networks. The greater our value we can give, the better and bigger our network will be.

Remember Who You Are In Christ

We just finished with our three-day mid-year prayer and fasting (July 1-3) and it was an awesome discovery.

I was reminded of who I am in Christ and that everything I need has been provided. I just need to ask from Him and be prepared to receive the blessings. The challenge is not in the preparation for the blessings that will come as we go on believing in His Word and His Character.

Well, in all the successes we can achieve in business or career, and when all is said and done, remember who we are in Christ. As we receive His gift of salvation:

  • we are to live a life of joy, under the power of the Holy Spirit,
  • we are considered heirs in Christ
  • we are to live under light and no longer in the dark
  • we live under His grace and mercy
  • we are not to live in the spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline
  • we love people

The Power of Financial Freedom

Everyone wants to have financial freedom because it offers a quality of life that actually is free from many of the living constraints that we have in our modern society.

Many of us are working to just survive, which is a common problem when it comes to being able to have financial freedom. If we are working to pay our bills, but have nothing left over for our families, and our savings account, then we are never really free of the burden that having finances brings on.  So being able to achieve financial freedom is something that many people dream of having, as it would allow people to have a higher standard of living, be able to pay bills, and have excess for entertainment, and desires.  But what makes having financial freedom powerful is that it is the “American Dream,” – no one wants to slave away for years for measly benefits, and a low wage salary.

People want to feel like they provide worth to the company, and are a great asset. But its more than this, they want to remember what it is like to be financially free – to know what the true worth and power of freedom is.

In order to relate to this, one must step backwards and remember that the first step to becoming financially free is to understand that it doesn’t start with your debt, your loans, the bank or your assets. It begins with remembering the pleasure that came with being able to buy your first car, eat ice cream at the park, or buy that book you have been wanting since its release.

We have to remember that money is more than just something to pay the bills, or a currency to barter with. It allows us to envision our desires and grasp them, it allows us to realize that money is not just a shiny object, but it creates value or de-value in our lives.  This is something a lot of people soon forget when they get trapped in working for a living that only provides us with the essentials. As human beings, these essentials are wonderful, but they are not enough. By not having the powerful financial freedom we seek, we degrade ourselves into a life that has less value.

But what makes financial freedom really powerful is that you can look at it in two ways. Either you can be financially free because you have a lot of shiny currency, or you can be powerfully free because you don’t need those finances for happiness. One almost always remember that the easiest step towards financial freedom is not allowing it to haunt you, or control you. If you can lead a life where you are not catering to your bills, but rather putting away savings for vacation trips or your new so and so, then you’re on the right track.

By empowering yourself to take control of your financials, live beyond that next paycheck, and supersede the constraints that money often puts on us, then you will realize that the power of being free truly does bring a different kind of happiness.

Believe in Yourself and Your Abilities

One of the most discouraging attitudes when joining network marketing is the belief that you can not become successful in the business and that, they can be successful but you cannot. It’s as if telling the world that only “they” can achieve any thing but “you” are not able.

Well, I’d like to tell you that if you can learn and are willing to do what it takes to be successful in network marketing, then you will eventually, no matter how long it takes or how big the challenges are.

If you will not believe in yourself and your abilities, even if people have already expressed their support of you, you will always doubt yourself and not go far, or even achieve your full potential. Continue learning and applying so that you can eventually surpass your current level and go on achieving all the things you want. Jim Rohn once shared, “Your skills determine your future.” Thus, as we believe in ourselves, we can develop the skills necessary to create the future we want for ourselves.
