Buy a Product or Service and the Business is Free

The essence of Network Marketing Business is that we buy a product or service and the business is free. Your business exists as long as we purchase or avail of the products or services. The only difference is that while you own the business, you get the around 20 – 30 % discount on your repeat purchases.

We all purchase products or avail services at one time to test the advertisement which we have come to know about the product or the recommendation made by a trusted friend or colleague. Then when we believe that the product or service is superior or of high quality or better suited for our needs, we use it and even share our experiences to those within our network. See, this is the essence of network marketing: we use products or services then share to other people. It is a word-of-mouth marketing type but the only difference is that we get paid by sharing our experience with it.

We are accustomed to products with a “Buy One, Take One” slogan offered by many establishments or stores, or buy this and get this one is free. But a rare offer has been made through network marketing, buy this product or service and the business partnership is free. No business has been shared this way.

So, when people ask you about the business opportunity you are offering, tell them that if they buy this (whatever you’re offering), the business is free. Though the business is acquired for free, the profits from it will be largely dependent on doing the business as you would a traditional business. Only difference is found here.

You are Your Business’ Greatest Asset

This phrase or idea can be missed as easily when we are experiencing a certain level of success as well as being busy with a lot of tasks that challenges us or our business. We tend to overwork without much rest and relaxation, even neglect sleeping the full eight hours when the tasks are meeting or nearing a deadline.

Since our personal growth is very important to our eventual and continual success, we must take care of our physical body as well as our mind and spirit because at the end of the day, we are our greatest business asset as well as our greatest liability. So, let’s us make every effort to improve ourselves and become better people persons.

The greater our health is the greater our chance of making it big in business as well as in life. The greater our personality, the better quality will be our business transactions. The greater our financial health, the greater our options and choices in life. The greater our relational skills, the greater our contribution to the world at large. Thus, you are your greatest asset, and no one will take care of you more than yourself.

Choose to Have Power Poses

Watching talks in TED helps me in learning some new things that might improve my life and those I lead. It makes sense not only in leadership but also in creating and sustaining a successful business. Watch and learn.

Some points worth noting:

  • There are poses that emanates confidence and greatness. Choose your poses wisely.
  • Use your body language for your advantage.
  • Show confidence in what you know and believe in.
  • Know those poses and use it for your benefit.

Remember, knowing when to use poses for your advantage is a great asset or skill that needs time to develop and practice. Just make sure you are giving the right idea with those poses.

Small Gestures can be Great

I watched this in one of the talks in TED. It makes sense not only in leadership and in creating a successful business but also in making a difference in other people’s lives. Watch and learn.

Some points worth noting:

  • There are small gestures that we do that we easily forget (or eventually we forget) which may greatly impact other people in the way they live their lives.
  •  Drew Dudley calls it “lollipop moments.” I call it “small acts creating great impacts.”

Remember, the small actions and gestures done overtime can become a great force in making a positive difference in people’s live (sometimes, even one small action can literally change someone’s destiny and fate.) So, be careful of those small actions you do for others and make sure it is a positive one.

How to Start a Successful Business

I have watched this in one of the talks in TED. It makes sense not only in leadership but also in creating a successful business. Watch and learn.

Some points worth noting:

  • A Nut is transformed into a leader when he has a follower. A business starts when you have at least one customer.
  • The first person who follows your leadership is one of the most important person you’ll need to take care. Your first customer as well must be taken care of because they are both the first people who believe in you and your products or services.
  • Everyone knows the one who started the movement but seldom knows the first follower but you who started the movement must recognize or appreciate him to the crowd when you become successful. Also, appreciate your first customer or client when you become a success in the business. Remember, a business without a loyal customer or client will eventually be out of business.
  • How we treat the people we first lead will impact the next ones. In the business world as well, treating people with great respect will give us great success.

Remember, we are leaders since we are influencing people within our circle of influence and we are business leaders when we are in business and we have at least one customer who are loyally buying from us.

Look for Flaws and Fail

There is no such thing as a perfect job or a perfect network marketing company. Too many distributors as well as prospects think that if they join the ground floor, stable, right, perfect, momentum-stage, 30-year-old and visionary company then that company will make them rich and successful. In the long run, this only causes frustrations, unreasonable expectations, conflicts and other things that would cause one to bad-mouth or destroy the reputations of many good network marketing companies.

Distributors don’t become rich because of the companies they partner themselves with or their great sponsor who makes a lot of money (though it is one of the factors that make someone successful in the business) but only the distributors themselves can decide and make themselves rich. Unsuccessful distributors constantly look for flaws in the company, products or services, their sponsors, etc. and reasons why their business won’t work. If you want to be successful in network marketing business, you must constantly find reasons why your business will work and make every effort to serve every person who needs your products or services and your business opportunity.

Don’t be in a habit of complaining about your company, sponsor and other reasons that are holding you back from your success. Highly qualified people shun people who complain.

If you always complain about the flaws and the things that don’t work for you in your current network marketing company, even if you join other network marketing companies, your result will still be the same – you will fail or you may experience a considerable success but your bad attitude and habitual complaints will make your success an eventual failure.

When we were in school, there were those subjects we didn’t like but we made a decision that we will pass (or be successful) those even if the teacher doesn’t give considerations, or he wasn’t able to communicate well or even if he gives low scores and grades, or our parents wasn’t that supportive or they even discourages us at times. We decided to finish the schooling whatever happens or however hard the process took. Then we were rewarded with lessons and proof of graduating.

Success will only work for us when we don’t complain on things that don’t work and start creating reasons for us to be successful. Ask yourself honestly, “Do I want or like doing business with me while I complain?” If the answer is negative, make the adjustments to make other people do business with you.

Notice and Accept God’s Help

This is adapted from Reader’s Digest, A Quiet Place for the Mind. This is a story where we want to receive help the way we wanted it but most of the time, it’s not the way we expected it to come. The story goes:

The Mississippi River was flooding its banks and the waters were rising around Clem’s house. The waters had gotten to the level of the front porch where Clem was standing. A man in a rowboat came by and called to Clem, “Hop in and I’ll take you to high ground.”

Clem replied, “No, my God will save me!”

The river continued to rise to the second story windows and Clem, looking out, saw a powerboat come up. The man in the powerboat called to Clem, “Hop in and I’ll take you to high ground.”

Clem replied, “No, my God will save me!”

The river had now risen to the roof of the house. Clem was sitting on the ridge at the top of the house, with the waters swirling around his feet. He saw a helicopter fly over and the people inside yelled over a bull horn, “Grab the rope and climb in and we’ll take you to high ground.”

Clem replied, “No, my God will save me!”

The river continued to rise and finally, it engulfed the house and Clem was drowned. The next thing he knew, Clem was standing before his God. In anger, he asked God, “I put my trust in You. Why have You forsaken me?”

And his God replied, “What else do you want from me? I sent you a rowboat, a powerboat, and a helicopter!”

We miss God’s help most of the time simply because we try to tell or dictate to Him how and when He’ll help us in our lives. It doesn’t work that way. We must be sensitive in His way of providing His answers and help and enjoying the ride all throughout the process.
